ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, PILERNE

(27/03/2022 to 03/04/2022)   4th Sunday of Lent       

  1. Last Sunday’s love offering is Rs. 13,960/-
  2. We thank the following group for organising mass and cleaning of the Church, i.e Saturday’s English mass – Tony Fernandes & Fly, Valentine Viegas & Fly & Bento Corriea & Fly from St. Thomas Somudai – Marra V and Sunday’s Morning 7.00 a.m mass – Agustine D’Costa & Fly, Jackie D’Souza and Fly and John Fernandes & Fly from St. Luke Somudai – Moicavaddo South. The second mass will be organised by St. Phillip catechism group (Tr Pragati & Tr. Cecelia)
  3. 2nd April 2022, Saturday, cleaning of the Church and organising the Liturgy will be done by Mr. Xavier Fernandes & Fly, Mrs. Josephine Fernandes & Fly & Ms. Natividade D’Souza & Fly from St. Perpetua Somudai – Marra III and Felicidade Noronha & Fly, Menino Coutinho and Fly and Anthon Pereira & Fly from St. Mathias Somudai – Marra IV. Coming Saturday (2nd Apr) the evening mass in English at 6.00 p.m. will be organised by St. Perpetua Somudai  (Marra III). 3rd April Sunday morning 7.00 a.m Mass will be organised by St. Mathias Somudai (Marra IV) the second mass will be organised by St. Jacob catechism group (Tr Nancy & Tr. Tanya)
  4. A request to attend the liturgical study of the Bible conducted by the Missionaries Families for Christ in our Parish. It is conducted in both languages, Konkani and English on every Wednesday from 6.30 to 8.00. All the somudai leaders and the CATS please attend this bible class on 30th March 2022 we will use this method in our Somudai from June onwards.
  5. Every Friday during lent there will be no morning mass in Church. In the evening there will be way of the cross, adoration followed by mass which shall begin at 4.30 p.m.
  6. 1st April, Friday way of cross will be organised by Catechists and catechism Children at 4.15 p.m.Please note in the change of the timing of the Way of the Cross.
  7. 27th March Sunday Village way of the Cross, Please prepare your Cross to be carried along for the way of the Cross. This year the way of the cross will be on Family. Each ward is to prepare a reflection for the stations allotted to them. The details will be shared on whatsapp group.
  8. 28th March Monday 1st Death Anniversary mass for the soul of Estefania D’Souza at 8.00 a.m
  9. 1st April Friday Months Mind mass for the Soul of Matilda D’Silva at 5.30 p.m
  10. 2nd April Saturday 2nd Death Anniversary mass for the soul of Piedade Vaz at 7.00 a.m
  11. During Lenten season a box is kept in the Chapels and Church as your Love offering during the Lent season. The amount will be added for the Good Samaritan Fund meant for the poor and Needy. Requesting you to contribute towards this noble cause during this Lenten season.
  12. 3rd April Sunday Church office will remain closed and will be kept opened on 11th April Monday.
  13. Communion for the sick and the Old on 30thThursday  March and 1st Friday April 2022
  14. Parish Pastoral Council meeting on 3rd April at 10.00 a..m
  15. Parish Lenten confessions on 5th April 2022 at 4.00 p.m in Marra, Moicavaddo, Candelaria  and Church.
  16. Catechists meeting at 10.00 a.m on 27th Sunday April.
