CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

We thank the following group for organising mass and cleaning of the Church, i.e Saturday’s English massPaulin S Souza & Fly, Romana D’Souza & Fly & Juze Fernandes & Fly from St. Barnabas Somudai Moicavaddo North and Sunday’s Morning 7.00 a.m mass – Caitan Silveira & Fly, Anthonio Correia and Fly and Raul Ferrao & Fly St. Catherine Somudai (Volvaddo West) the second mass will be organised by St. Bartholomew catechism group (Tr Fiona & Tr. Angelina)
  3. 26th March 2022, Saturday, cleaning of the Church and organising the Liturgy will be done by Tony Fernandes & Fly, Valentine Viegas & Fly & Bento Corriea & Fly from St. Thomas Somudai – Marra V and Agustine D’Costa & Fly, Jackie D’Souza and Fly and John Fernandes & Fly from St. Luke Somudai – Moicavaddo South. Coming Saturday (26th Mar) the evening mass in English  at 6.00 p.m. will be organised by St. Thomas Somudai  (Marra V). Sunday morning 7.00 a.m Mass will be organised by St. Luke Somudai (Moicavaddo North) the second mass will be organised by St. Phillip catechism group (Tr Pragati & Tr. Cecelia)
  4. A request to attend the liturgical study of the Bibble conducted by the Missionaries Families for Christ in our Parish. It is conducted in both languages, Konkani and English on every Wednesday from 6.30 to 8.00. All the somudai leaders and the CATS please attend this bible class on 23rd March 2022 we will use this method in our Somudai from June onwards.
  5. Every Friday during lent there will be no morning mass in Church. In the evening there will be way of the cross, adoration followed by mass which shall begin at 4.30 p.m.
  6. 25th March, Friday way of cross will be organised by Parish Youth and Altar Servers at 4.30 p.m.
  7. 25th March Friday, 2nd Death Anniversary mass for the soul of Joanita Victor at 5.30 p.m
  8. 20th March Sunday somudaiwise way of the Cross at 4.00p.m
  9. 27th March Sunday Village way of the Cross, Please prepare your Cross to be carried along for the way of the Cross.
  10. During Lenten season a box is kept in the Chapels and Church as your Love offering during the Lent season. The amount will be added for the good Samaritan Fund meant for the poor and Needy. Requesting you to contribute towards this noble cause during this Lenten season.
  11. It is noticed that some students remain absent for Music classes on Wednesdays. It has been decided and agreed upon that even if a student is absent  for the classe  he/she has to pay Rs.350 for the class.
  12. 21st March Monday the church office will remain open.

Piedade)
3. 19th February 2022, Saturday, cleaning of the Church and organising the Liturgy will be done by Angelica D’Costa & Fly, Joseph D’Souza & Fly and Epifania Lobo & Fly from St. Polycarp Somudai (Marra II) and Matilda D’Silva & Fly, Alzira Fernandes & Fly and Manuel D’Souza & Fly from St. John of the Cross Somudai (Marra I). Coming Saturday (19th Feb) the evening mass in English at 6.00 p.m. will be organised by St. Polycarp Somudai (Marra II) and Sunday morning mass will be organise by St. John of the Cross Somudai (Marra III) at 7.00 a.m. and second mass will be organised by St. Paul catechism group (Sir Domnic, & Sir. Terryll)
4. 17th February, Thursday, Blessing of Maddi of Our Lady of Candelaria, at 5.00 p.m followed by mass. From 18th Friday onwards novena begins rosary at 5.00 p.m followed by mass. Somudai leaders please prepare the Liturgy and give for correction two days before your Novenas
5. Today there is meeting of Catechists along with Parents. Requesting the Parents to attend this meeting without fail as it will be an open day also.
6. The redemptorists Fathers are organising Lenten Weekend retreats at DASYA, Porvorim starting on 4th March – 6th March, 11th March- 13th March, 18th March – 20th March, 25th March- 27th March, 1st April to 3rd April 2022. The retreat will begin on Friday at 5 p.m and end on Sunday Post Lunch. Only 25 people per weekend. Details will be sent to you on Whatsaap. Those interested can contact Fr. 7. The social cell of the Archdiocese has prepared a prayer in view of the coming Assembly Elections on 14th Feb 2022. Kindly recite it daily till the Elections after the Rosary in you families.
8. Most probably in March 2022 we are going to start the construction work of the Parish Hall and Catechism classroom. In view of this the Parish Council has brought out some Easter Hampers. Our PPC members will come with them. Please be generous to buy the hampers.
9. Parish Youth of Pilerne will be staging a Free Tiatr entitled,’Amche xim Rav’ on 27th Feb at 7.00 in the church Compound.
10. Our State Assembly Elections of 2022 are very crucial for our community. Saligao Constituency has 27,313 voters altogether. Out of which, 8,192 i.e 30% votes belongs to our community. We cannot afford to split our community votes. Hence the need of the hour is to consolidate our community votes and defeat the facist and communal forces that are very dangerous to our State where religious and communal harmony has always prevailed. Please do not fall prey to money or other materialistic goods even some of these candidates may be your friends or relatives.. Let us collectively choose the right candidate and the right party that will safeguard the interests and rights of our community.Kindly think of our entire community before you cast your precious vote.

  5. The fees for the music classes has been increased from Rs. 250 to 350 for the New Year.
  6. 16th January Sunday, Feast of St. Joseph Vaz mass will be outside near Statue at 7.00 a.m
    And second mass at 8.30 a.m mass will be in the Church.

  4. 23rd August Monday,1st Death anniversary mass for the soul of Rosario Diogo Gomes at 7.00 a.m from Manxer.
  5. 29th August we celebrate the Harvest feast in our Parish. It is also called Somudai Day . We shall have blessings of the Corn and also the fruits /vegetables grown in your garden. Kindly bring it for the first Mass. The Catechism children will bring the fruits/vegetables for the second mass at 8.30 a.m. The blessing will be at 6.45 a.m followed by the Mass at 7.00 and also during the 8.30 mass. On that day the Parish priest will bless all fields of our Village from different locations. The timings and the venue will be announced shortly. In the evening at 4.00 there will be Somuday day celebrations. All the Associations of our Parish including the CATS and PATS of PPC will have to compulsorily attend the evening programme. All the 13 Somudais will prepare a rice food item.
  6. The Village Panchayat of Marra-Pilerne has installed some free Wiffi hotspots in Our Village for the Poor students who cannot afford internet facility at home. Some of the hotspots include, St.John the Baptist Church, Pilerne, St.Anne’s chapel, Marra and Mae de Deus Chapel, Moicavaddo. The hotspot will be activated from 9.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m. Students please avail of this opportunity
  7. Since we have started our Catechism mass, I request the respective classes who are marked to organise the litury to organise the Choir also for the catechism mass. We will have the Liturgy and Choir practise on Every Thrusday at 5.00 p.m. Rev. Fr. Derick Fernandes

CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. We thank the following group for organising mass and for cleaning the Church, Candelaria Chapel committee and Eucharistic Ministers. Saturdays English Mass and liturgy was organised by Candelaria Chapel committee and Sunday morning mass is organised by Eucharistic Ministers.
  2. Saturday’s (10th July) cleaning of the Church and organising the Liturgy will be done by Charasmatic and Intercessory Prayer Group & Friends of Joseph Vaz and Church Choir. The Saturday’s evening mass in English will be organised by Charasmatic and Intercessory Prayer Group at 6.00 p.m. Sunday morning mass will be organise by Friends of Joseph Vaz and Church Choir at 7.00 a.m.
  3. 9th July Friday, Second Death Anniversary Mass for the soul of “Iris D’Souza” from Alto Savlem at 7.00 a.m.
  4. Those who wish to partake in the daily mass can do so also those wishing to attend the Saturday’s evening English mass at 6.00 p.m and Sunday’s morning mass 7.00 also can attend . Prior filling of the google forms is required for Participation in the Sunday masses.
  5. Next Sunday ,11th July onwards we begin our regular Online Catechesim classes. The mass will be online at 8.30 followed by Catechism at 10.00. It is the moral duty of the Parents to instruct your children in the Catholic Faith. Parents please see to that the Children attend the Catechism mass and the catechism after the mass. Those Parents wishing to enrol their children for Catechism Please fill the Catechism form that will be available on our Church website. (https://stjohnbaptistchurchgoa.org/sunday-catechetical-school-pilerne) Today 4th July a small prayer service will be conducted to mark the inaugural of the Catechetical year.
  6. The Church Bulletin of June-July and the Pastoral letter for this year will be distributed this week by the Somudai leaders.
